The World Green Building Council has launched a new report which highlights the tangible economic benefits of green buildings. Doing Right by Planet and People: The Business Case for Health and Wellbeing in Green Building presents case studies of 11 facilities around the world that have one or more green certification.
In general, after adding health and wellbeing features into green-certified buildings, companies found they had:
- Lowered rates of employee absenteeism
- Lower operating costs
- More productive and healthier feeling employees
Greener workspaces are healthier, more enjoyable places to work, and this has a tangible impact on productivity, employee health and the business bottom line.
