A new JLL Research study has found that 70% of employees say that happiness at work is the best ingredient for a unique work experience.
“In the future of work, experience really should be a major focus to drive a high level of satisfaction from work,” says Marie Puybaraud, Global Head of Research at JLL. “People are craving authenticity in their lives - and their careers.”
There is mounting evidence that suggests that positive workplace environments can have a profound effect on people's professional happiness. Companies should take note of this.
Future friendly workplace strategy will focus on the human element of the workspace.
“There is a growing sense that offering the optimal human experience will create value for the people who work there as well as customers, visitors and other stakeholders.” John Forrest - JLL Corporate solutions.
The research from JLL also suggests that employees value having flexible workspaces. 50% of employees think it is important for their workplace to have spaces dedicated to collaborative working and 32% want creative spaces.
Many companies are taking note of this, and are already offering a wide mixture of spaces including cafes, lounge areas, AV heavy project ‘war rooms’ and quiet spaces for individual work.
