The ideal workplace showcases innovative and inventive design. That’s according to a new report by financial firm Capital One.
The report was based on a broad sample of 2,500 American professionals and revealed some of the ways that workplace design influences productivity and happiness whilst at work.

The report found that:
- 82% of participants said that a workplace must exhibit innovative design in order to truly foster a culture of innovation where they can do their best thinking.
- 86% of office professionals believe companies can't encourage innovation unless their workplace environment is innovative, and 57% feel innovation isn't reflected at all in their current workplace's design
- 85% of office professionals surveyed believe flexible workplace design is important and 82% of office professionals have their best ideas when they're working in flexible space options.
According to the report, the three most sought-after design elements were:
Ample natural light (62%)
Inspiring artwork or creative imagery (44%)
Reconfigurable spaces with varied furniture options (43%)
